Governor’s Student Voter Registration Challenge! – Now
Bates Technical College and Phi Theta Kappa have signed up to take the Governor’s Student Voter Registration Challenge! To win, we need to be the community and technical college with the highest percentage of new voter registrations and updated voter registration information (change of address, change of name, etc.).

College Days @ Wild Waves Theme and Water Park – Now
This special event will be held every Wednesday in July and August! The tickets for this event only cost $20 a ticket with a minimum purchase of 2 tickets at a time. The promo code is College2018 and they use this to purchase the tickets online at Wildwaves.com. These discounted tickets can also be purchased at the onsite ticket booths with valid student ID.
Student Food Pantry – Collecting Donations
The student food pantry is collecting donations. We are looking for individually packaged non-perishable items for lunch bags to feed hungry students. For example, cup of noodles, cup mac and cheese, bottled water, granola bars, individually wrapped crackers, small bags of nuts, jerky and chips. Donations can be delivered to the Downtown Campus ASG office in C301, South Campus ASG/Vet Center B512, High School Office and Library, and Central Campus front desk.
Student Satisfaction Survey
In May of 2018, students were asked to complete a satisfaction survey covering a wide range of topics. Almost 500 students took the survey. Preliminary results are available online here. A guide for interpreting the results is available here.
In the coming months, additional reports will be released including a qualitative analysis of the open-ended questions and results compiled by campus and program area.
All student led clubs will sunset after summer quarter. Clubs must be re-sanctioned annually, if a club wishes to continue for the next academic year, they must re-apply for sanctioning. Clubs are encouraged to re-apply in early July for the next academic year.

Economic Secretariat Scholarship – Now
The Economic Secretariat is pleased to present our new scholarship to Washington State Community & Technical Colleges. Students from all majors are welcome to apply for this $1,000 scholarship but it may be of particular interest to business students. Please write a 1,000 to 1,500-word essay answering and reflecting the following questions:
- In what ways do you consider yourself an entrepreneur?
- What motivates you to work hard in everything that you do?
- As an entrepreneur, what do you view as “success” and what do you think it takes to become successful in 2018?
- Knowing that entrepreneurship involves a lot of ups and downs, describe the best example of you being persistent in the face of failure.

Have a 3.5+ GPA?
If you have earned 12 college level credits, with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above, you may be eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society on campus. Keep your eyes on your email for an invitation!
Beginning fall quarter, PTK meetings will be held on Thursday’s from 11:30 AM -12:15 PM in Downtown C303. We will be in the same location and time, on a different day. See you there!
