US Open chambers Bay Pic
NWN Host Tom Layson takes viewers inside the planning for the US Open.

This summer, thousands of people will flock to Pierce County to witness what may be the biggest planned event in South Sound history.

The 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place is already mostly sold out for its entire week run in June. So, what does all this international attention and sudden increase in tourism to the Tacoma area mean?

On the next edition of Northwest Now, host Tom Layson takes a closer look at the impact of the U.S. Open. Find out what community leaders are doing to prepare the area for issues like traffic, parking, and public safety. Plus, we’ll hear from some local business owners about what this could mean for their businesses. We’ll also hear from homeowners who want to rent their homes to tournament-goers.
